BOSton Sings

BOSton Sings, or BOSS, is a CASA-sponsored a cappella festival held in Boston, MA. The inaugural event was held April 13-15, 2012, with performances at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA, and workshops and masterclasses on the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA.

Somewhat different in format and concentration than other CASA festivals, BOSS featured workshops and masterclinicians dedicated to improving a cappella groups' performance in the recording studio, and educating them on how their live performance can improve their recordings and vice versa.

The first year of BOSS featured a lineup of performers both local to Boston and from around the rest of the Northeastern United States and Canada. The Friday night collegiate competition and CARA ceremony was hosted by Ball in the House, a local Boston vocal band. Saturday's professional showcase featured local group Redline, NYC-based Traces, and Canadian jazz quartet Cadence.
